#Girl Crush

It was brought to my attention that there is controversy surrounding Little Big Towns new single Girl Crush.
First of all Whoever has a problem with this song #1 is probably an idiot and #2 Why do people have a problem with this song and not rappers  degrading women? (Think about it!) And last but most importantly, listen to the words. The lyric says specifically “I want to kiss her lips because they taste like you. I Want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume. I want her long blonde hair. Ya cuz maybe then you woukd Want me more.”  The song is clearly about being jealous of someone else having a man she wants. Besides this though Why do we have to find debate in every single aspect of things.

Here is the YouTube link to the song. If you haven’t heard it. It is a Great song.

I haven’t heard it. But I looooove LBT! And totally agree, why do we have to find conflict in every teeny tiny thing. It’s a song people, just enjoy it or change the station! Jeesh.
    Going to listen now 🙂

You are SO right. It’s so important to call people out on their strange opposition to some things but not to others, in particular how widely everyone seems to disregard very horrific views on women in a lot of mainstream music. Great post! Also, great hat!

First off, I love Reba. 🙂
Second off, I imagine people have a problem with this song because they are close minded, they hear & see what they want. And even if this song was about what they THINK it is about (LGBT) big deal a song is a song is a song, change the channel. The song isn’t hateful or degrading.
If anything I have an issue with the girl with the girl crush not moving on, envy & comparison is thief of joy & happiness.
Some people just like to complain.
Thanks for sharing at Mommy Monday!
